Disaster Intervention Programme(DIP)
Disaster is a sudden calamity, accident or natural catastrophe which brings great damage or destruction. Disaster could be natural or manmade which has a lot of massive human, social economic cost. Access to food and adequate nutrition is critical to survival in disaster situations. Mortality o displaced populations can be as high as ten times the rates or the same population in non-emergency. Malnutrition can be one of the most serious public health problems in the case of emergency. ERS goal is to ensure that emergency affected population have proper health care, adequate food intake and reduce risk of acute malnutrition and mortality.
